Hashimi is a poor and densely populated district in the northeast of Amman, Jordan.  The school was founded in 1949 and has limited land in which to operate, especially the playground area which is very restrictive considering the number of students. The students, girls and boys, are drawn from the local population, which is a mixture of Christians and Muslims.  The school offers education in the kindergarten,  primary and middle grades.
